Educational background
I graduated from UMSL with my undergraduate degree, and I have my MFA in Creative Writing and my master’s in School Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Family and Hobbies:
I was born and raised in St. Louis but lived in Minnesota for 20 years when my kids were growing up. I came back to St. Louis for a few years, then I lived for last 10 years in Houston, Texas. I’m super happy to be back in St. Louis I come from a family of five siblings and I have two grown daughters and three grandsons. Those grandsons are the love of my life.

When I’m not hanging out with family and friends, I like to read, go camping, take pictures, build things out of wood, and play Wordle. I also love to do jigsaw puzzles. I have a puppy named Otis who is a very good listener and enjoys taking naps with me when it’s hot outside.

A little known fact about me:
I got to compete in the first million-dollar prize Pillsbury Bake-Off. I didn’t win.

I’m excited to:
be back in St. Louis and be able to join the team at Givens. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and am ready to do whatever I can to make all our kids and families have a great school year.
