Welcome to First Grade! I am so excited to have you in my class. I love teaching first grade, being outdoors, exploring nature and learning. I am so happy to be part of all the thinking, learning and fun we will have together. We will explore many new and exciting things throughout the year.

I can’t wait to learn all about you, but first I will tell you a little about me. I love books! I think the ability to read is an incredible gift that I am so happy to get to share with you. I love how books connect us to people we love and teach us about the world we live in. Some of my favorite children’s books are Verdi by Janell Cannon, P.J. Funnybunny Camps Out by Marilyn Sadler, and I Was So Mad by Mercer Mayer. We will read these great books and so many others!

I am married and have two wonderful children, Alexis and Joseph. I enjoy walking, reading, photography, art, and learning new things! We also have a dog named Chloe and a mischievous cat named Socks (you will hear lots of stories about Socks)! We have many pets in our classroom, too.  Currently, we have fish, a gecko and a corn snake named Reggie. I enjoy having pets in our classroom and I hope you will too!

Our year will be full of adventures, friendships, learning and fun! I can’t wait to spend it with you!
