Welcome to the 5th grade. I have been teaching for many, many, many years. Really, about 30 years.  I have taught a range of grades from 3rd to 8th.  My family consists of my wife(Michelle), daughter(Libby), daughter(Katie), and son(Ben). 

This year, I will be teaching science and social studies to all 5th graders and reading to my class only.  5th grade is full of many exciting opportunities for the students to learn and grow.  I am looking forward to a fun and rewarding year.

Homework

There will be times in 5th grade where the students have some work to complete at home.  This could be finishing up work not completed in class or practice of a learned concept.

Please allow your child to complete the homework on their own.  While it is tempting and sometimes easier to help them with their homework, allowing them to work through it on their own will ultimately be more rewarding for them. 

If they come to school with incomplete work, they should inform the teacher as to the reason.  They will be  expected to complete at a later date.
