  • What a Beautiful Day for a Walk and Short Hike

Posted by Brenda Wright on 3/21/2020

I had the opportunity to get outside twice for a walk around the neighborhood and a short hike at Emmenegger Park. You don't have to go far to enjoy nature!

AllTrails is a website and App you can have on your phone. It includes trail maps, reviews of the trails, activities around the park/trail and photos. It is a great tool to have on hand when you want to get out in nature.

We are so fortunate to live in a state that has so many natural areas! While we are practicing social distancing, we can get out in nature. Have your child/children do some research on Missouri's natural areas and trails (https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/places/natural-areas). They can research the history of the natural area and plan a hike. There are long hikes, short hikes, easy hikes and moderate to difficult hikes. Grab a trail map to teach some map skills.Map Map

The library renovation is now complete. I want to give a great big thanks to the PTO. The library looks amazing! I can't wait to see the students' faces when they see the new soft seating and shelving and new arrangement!

    Summer Webster Reads

    Parents:

Research proves that students who read over the summer maintain or even improve their reading skills. In fact, students in grades three and up who read four or five books over the summer can prevent summer reading loss! Talking and writing about books is also highly beneficial. To access book lists, please visit the Webster Groves School District website at www.webster.k12.mo.us.

    Students:

To earn a free book, please read the number of books listed for your grade level. These books should be at an appropriate level for you. If you read more, that’s great! Just use another sheet of paper, or

download another copy on the Webster Groves School District website at www.webster.k12.mo.us

Return this form to your teacher

or school librarian, on or before August 31st.
