A native of St. Louis, I attended North Glendale Elementary School, and then went to Parkway West High School. I was an AFS exchange student in Norway for a year before attending Mizzou, where I majored in journalism. I met my husband Larry there, and we’ve now been married for 36 years!
My husband’s job as a sportswriter took us to Colorado and then Nevada, where we adopted our two children, Pat (now 32) and Kelsey (30). I left my career in advertising, went back to school and became a teacher. My husband left sportswriting and has been teaching college journalism for the past 26 years. We moved to Lawrence, Kansas about 22 years ago and finally made our way back home to St. Louis in 2003.
I’m now in my 15th year at Avery, having taught first, second and third grades here, and I’m so happy to call Avery home! In my free , time I enjoy spending time outdoors, watching sports (especially the St. Louis Blues), keeping in touch with friends around the country (and around the world) and being a couch potato watching TV with my husband and our dog, Noni.
