Mrs. Rodney

I'm a transplant to Saint Louis and before moving here, I've lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Brooklyn, NY, and Kingston, Jamaica, where I was born. I graduated from Webster University with an M.A. and from Florida Atlantic University with a B.A. It was in sunny Fort Lauderdale Florida that I began my teaching career where I taught high school and more specifically English 1 - 9th grade and created units based on the journey of Odysseus and the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, to name a few. In my earlier life, I was an accountant's assistant, a youth leader with the Manhattan Borough President's office, and a financial aid counselor.  My current reading list ranges from The Children of Blood & Bone by Tomi Adeyemi to Chocolate Me by Taye Diggs. In my spare time, I like to take pictures, watch Netflix, and spend time with my husband and three children.

At Webster Groves High, I'll be teaching two (2) sections of African American Literature, one (1) section of ACT Test Prep, and two (2) sections of Freshman Lit. and Comp.
