I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with my Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 2006. After graduation I taught 2nd grade at Blades Elementary for 4 years. During that time I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching with Certification in Special Reading K-12. Then I began teaching in the Webster Groves School District. I was a Reading Specialist at Bristol for 1 year and then became an Avery All-Star. I taught 2nd grade at Avery for 2 years. In 2013 I completing training in Reading Recovery through Southeast Missouri State University and moved into my current role at Avery as a Reading Specialist and Reading Recovery teacher. In 2019 I completed training for Orton-Gillingham through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education.
