I have been teaching at Avery since 2001! I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades before becoming a reading specialist. I enjoy teaching and learning with my kiddos!

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. In 2008, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Reading from Webster University. I have a Doctorate in Teacher Leadership from Maryville University. I am especially interested in early literacy experiences and investigating the best ways to teach reading to young students; my dissertation focused on these ideas.

In my spare time, I love to hang out with my three children, my husband, and my badly-behaved dog. My family loves to play sports, so I spend a lot of time driving to and from different sporting events. When I get quiet time, I love to grab and coffee and read a good book!
