- When is the library open?
The Library is open every day from 8:00am to 3:30 pm. - How many books may be checked out at a time?
Kindergarten and 1st grade may check out 1 book at a time.
2nd and 3rd grade may check out 2 books at a time.
4th grade may check out 3 books at a time.
5th grade may check out 4 books at a time. - How long may I keep a book?
Books are checked out for one week at a time. If you are not finished with the book, you may renew the book as many times as you want, provided there are no holds on the book. - Do I have to pay a fine for an overdue book?
No, we do not charge fines for overdue books. However, if the book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the replacement cost of the book must be paid. See Mrs. Weatherby or Mrs. Scott for the replacement cost amount. - How often to students visit the library?
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade visit the library twice a week during a scheduled 25 minute block. During the first weekly visit, library skills are taught and/or literature is shared. The weekly visit is dedicated primarily for book check out. A story or book talk is shared each week before check out. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade visit the library once a week during a scheduled 50 minute block. Each week, a book or some type of literature is shared, a library lesson is taught along with a short activity, and students may check out books. - When may individual students visit the library?
Students may visit the library at any time during the day with permission from their teacher. Library books may be returned and checked out at any time during the day when Mrs. Weatherby or Mrs. Scott are in the library. - Do students learn any computer/technology skills?
All students will learn ethical use of technoloy and computer literacy skills.
