Ms. Jocelyn Reiss

Entering my ninth year of Art Education, I am thrilled to join the Webster Groves High School Art Department for the 2018-19 school year! I will be teaching foundational Art courses; Studio Art, Art Concepts and Art Exploration, as well as facilitating two Academic Lab courses.

I have a professional background in Art; I earned my B.F.A. in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006 and worked in freelance design and as a staff illustrator for a newspaper before pursuing a Master's degree in Education.  I began teaching elementary and middle level art courses in 2009, and moved to teaching high school art courses in 2013.  I taught Photograhy, Drawing, Jewelry, and Sculpture for four years in Lincoln, Nebraska and was named Secondary Art Educator of the Year for the state of Nebraska in 2016.

My own aesthetic interests include drawing and illustration, photography and collage, oil painting and watercolor, as well as an intense interest in fiber arts.

My family and I relocated to St. Louis in 2017, and LOVE the community vibe around Webster Groves!
