    The 2021-2022 Local Scholarship Applications are available until February 22, 2022

     

    GUSSNER FUTURE TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP

    A scholarship for those interested in becoming a teacher. You will need an application letter explaining why you wish to be a teacher, a letter of recommendations, and a copy of your transcript.

    IVORY CROCKETT SCHOLARSHIP

     This scholarship is for students who wish to pursue a career in Allied Health. Students will need to fill out a form and provide a letter of recommendation.

    HOWARD A LATTA SCHOLARSHIP

     The Howard A. Latta Scholarship Fund was established by the Class of 1968 to honor the principal of Webster Groves High School, Mr. Howard Latta. The establishment of the Latta Fund created, for the first time, a scholarship program solely for the benefit of graduating seniors from Webster Groves High School.

    LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

     The Webster Groves Lions Club awards scholarships based on need, academics, and community service to selected college bound Webster Groves seniors. You will need to complete an application and submit a transcript.

    WEBSTER GROVES NEA SCHOLARSHIP

     Webster Groves NEA recognizes the existence of an Achievement Gap amongst the student body. This scholarship is awarded to assist graduating seniors whose academic achievement contributed to the closing of that gap. Students will need to submit an essay, application, and provide your transcript.

    PARENTS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

    The mission of the WGHS Parents Club Scholarship Committee is to award scholarships to help deserving graduating seniors pursue a formal education at accredited colleges, universities, junior colleges, trade schools (such as cosmetology and culinary school), or technical/vocational schools. Students will need to write a short survey and complete the application.

    WEBSTER GROVES FAMILY & FRIENDS SCHOLARSHIP

     Webster Groves Family and Friends, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprised of WGHS alumni that give a minimum of three $500 scholarships to deserving seniors who will be attending a college, university, career or trade school following graduation. Scholarships are awarded based on community service and citizenship/character.  A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.

    NEW ADDITIONS

    • DOROTHY J ST. JAMES MEMORIAL WRITING CONTEST

    To be eligible for this scholarship you must be a current high school senior.

    The criteria for this contest are that you must write a short story (1,500 to 3,000 words). The 2022 theme is THE STORM. The stories may be any genre (historical, modern, futuristic, fantasy, etc.) and may be set anywhere so long as it has to do with a storm. Keep in mind this is a wide range. Submissions must be original and unpublished. All entries must follow the following rules.

    1. Do not put your name on any pages of your entry; your name, phone number, and email address, along with the title of your entry, go on a cover page.

    2. All contest entries must be printed in Times New Roman 12-point type and double-spaced as a WORD document.

         A. Use one-inch margins all around

         B. Indent each paragraph 3n to 5 spaces.

         C. The title of the work and page number should appear on every printed page.

         E. Entries must be in good taste, easy to read, use proper grammar and punctuation, and correct spelling.

         F. Do not use fancy or script fonts for your text, except when stating character thoughts, which must be in italics.

    3. Do not include illustrations or pictures.

    4. Do not staple the pages together. Use a paperclip.

    5.Submit the entry in a 8 1/2 x 10" envelope with the cover page.

    6. Any deviation from these rules could be the basis for disqualifications.

    ONE TIME ONLY - WEBSTER GROVES FAMILY & FRIENDS LOGO SCHOLARSHIP

     Webster Groves Family and Friends, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprised of WGHS alumni that give a minimum of three $500 scholarships to deserving seniors who will be attending a college, university, career or trade school following graduation.

    This year they are also looking for an official logo for their organization and will be offering a $1,000 scholarship to the person who designs it.

    WEBSTER GROVES FIREFIGHTERS COMMUNITY OUTREACH SCHOLARSHIP

    Webster Groves Firefighters Community Outreach is a non-profit organization comprised of WG Fire Dept. that awards students who best understand what community service is and how to serve the Webster Groves community. Students will need to write a short essay and complete the application.

    ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

     The Rotary Club of Webster Groves annually awards one-year, non-renewable scholarships (up to $4,000 each) to deserving high school seniors. Applicants must submit an essay, transcript, SAT and/or ACT scores, and complete the application. As well as speak to the Rotary Club and tell them about yourself and your plans for the future.
