  • Q: If my elementary student is not eligible for free transportation can I pay for them to ride?
    No, at the elementary level only students who are eligible for free transportation will be allowed to ride the bus.

    Q: If I currently pay for transportation for my student to ride the bus for Hixson or WGHS, and they are not eligible for free transportation, can they still ride the bus?
    Yes, for this school year your student will still  be able to ride the bus for a fee.

    Q: I have previously paid for bus service in Webster, is this really free?
    Yes, eligible students will be able to ride the bus for free this year. If there are spots available.

    Q: If I registered for bus service last spring for the 2023-24 school year, do I need to register again?
    No, you will not need to register again.

    Q: What if I already paid for bus service for the 2023-24 school year but now I’m eligible for free transportation?
    All payments will be refunded.

    Q: Will there be any bus route changes or adjustments based on the number of students expressing interest in the bus service?
    Routes will be determined after the deadline of August 6, and will likely differ from the routes used in previous years.

    Q: Does this only affect middle school students?
    No, all students in grades K-12 who are eligible to ride, will be able to do so for free.

    Q: When will bus routes be available prior to the first day of school?
    You will be notified by the Friday prior to the first day of school via email.

    Q: After registering, how will I be notified if my student is placed on a bus route this school year?
    You will be notified by the Friday prior to the first day of school via email.

    Q: If my student is placed on the waiting list, how will the school notify us if a spot becomes available?
    You will be notified by the Friday prior to the first day of school via email.

    Q: Can students use the bus service occasionally, or is it only available for daily ridership?
    Priority will be given for students who ride both to and from school each day. In the event a student is not regularly riding the bus to and from school each day, that student will not be permitted to continue riding the bus.

    Q: How will the school handle special circumstances, such as a change in my student's address, that might affect their eligibility for the bus service?
    If the change in address affects the eligibility the student may not be able to ride the bus. Contact the district as soon as possible to determine if the new address will affect eligibility.

    Q: Will the school consider expanding the bus service to include other areas or neighborhoods in the future?
    Our goal is to provide transportation to those who are eligible first, but are looking at ways to expand access if we are able to.
