Mission Statement
The mission of the Finance Advisory Committee (FAC) for the Webster Groves School District is to monitor financial issues and trends facing the district and provide advice to the district administration and the Board of Education regarding them.
Finance Advisory Committee Actions (in cooperation with the District staff):- Study and deliberate financial issues and areas of fiscal concern to the district and report the results to the Board of Education and district administration
- Review administrative actions related to the financial matter of the district
- Advise the Board of Education and administration on district finances, including but not limited to:
- policies regarding financial management
- referendums (e.g. amount, timing, need)
- financial projections and finance-related bid specifications
- Facilitate cooperation and communication regarding financial affairs between the schools/school district and the community
- Bring community perspective to the district for planning long-range financial strategies
Qualifications for the FAC:
- Professional training or proven expertise in financial management
- Residence or employment within the Webster Groves School District boundaries
- Dedication to serving the district and community
- Willingness to serve as a community liaison
- Commitment to comply with School Board policies and committee guidelines
- Ability to attend a majority of the scheduled meetings
Members shall be appointed to three-year terms by the Board of Education
