Summer 2025 Construction Update

Thanks to the support of Prop S and other funding sources, the Webster Groves School District made significant facility improvements this summer to enhance safety, learning environments, and long-term building health. While some projects will continue into the school year, the work completed represents a major step forward in our commitment to students, staff, and the community.

Walter Ambrose Family Center

• Playscape and Grounds Improvements (to be completed after school starts)

Avery Elementary

• Exterior tuckpointing and powerwashing
• Interior door replacements for safety and security
• Lighting upgrades in gym, library, lobby, and hallways
• Exterior lighting enhancements
• Waterproofing in basement classrooms
• Modular removal and asphalt repairs
• Upstairs hall/classroom window replacement for water mitigation (post-start completion)
• Interior painting
• Electrical upgrades in classrooms and lounge

Bristol Elementary

• Exterior tuckpointing and powerwashing (post-start completion)
• Interior door replacements for safety and security
• Lighting upgrades
• Exterior lighting enhancements
• Waterproofing in cafeteria (extended sump pump system)
• Abatement and flooring/chalkboard replacement in 3 classrooms
• Asphalt repairs

Clark Elementary

• Gutter and downspout replacement (post-start completion)
• Playground project (funded by bond, PTO, and operating funds)
• Lighting upgrades in gym and restrooms
• Plumbing repairs
• Cafeteria floor repairs

Edgar Road Elementary

• Gutter and downspout replacement
• Lighting upgrades in gym and main entrance
• Exterior lighting additions and upgrades
• HVAC repairs/modifications in library
• Asphalt repair and replacement

Givens Elementary

• Gym/cafeteria roof replacement
• HVAC replacement project
• Rear parking lot repair and replacement
• Fence installation by creek

Hudson Elementary

• Tuckpointing, waterproofing, roofing repairs, and chimney demolition
• Lighting upgrades in gym lobby
• Minor plumbing repairs
• Asphalt repair/replacement and grading along paved playground

Hixson Middle School

• Family & Consumer Science classroom renovation (post-start completion)
• Locker removal from former Varsity/JV football locker room space (post-start completion)
• Phase 2 window replacement
• Sidewalk replacement (post-start completion)
• ADA ramp flooring replacement

Webster Groves High School

• Tuckpointing, exterior powerwashing, and roof repairs (post-start completion)
• Exterior stair resurfacing
• Knight Auditorium upgrades
• Family & Consumer Science classroom renovation (post-start completion)
• Hall of Fame hallway lighting
• Plaster repairs (post-start completion)
• Selma Parking Lot A replacement
• Kopplin Field parking lot repair

Other District Facilities

• Central Office roof replacement
• Service Center air conditioning unit (post-start completion)
