    kids dressed up for halloween

    Avery Families,

On Wednesday, responsive students will receive a free Halloween themed shirt from their teachers.  Kindergarten through Fifth will all be back in school for responsive students, so I think a t-shirt is a great surprise to celebrate.  Virtual student shirts will be available for pickup starting Wednesday morning at 8:00am to 8:00pm. There will be a tub (labeled with each grade level) outside Avery for virtual students.  Each shirt in the tub is labeled with the student's name.  Now onto the fun part....

All homes participating in the scavenger hunt are listed in this link.  There is also a picture of the home for reference.  A white star with the Avery logo will be among decorations to find.  Scavenger Hunt starts today and ends November 1st. Fifth graders will also be judging the homes as part of a house decorating contest.  Fifth grade families be on the lookout for an email from your teacher for details!  Winners will be announced on November 2nd.

Costume Contest:  All Avery students are welcome to participate in a school wide costume contest.  As a parent/guardian, all you have to do is submit a picture of your child in his/her costume via link-  https://forms.gle/ZPJniTxFhAKf4MZ39.  Each grade will have one winner, voted on by the Fall Festival Committee. Entries are being excepted now with a deadline of October 31st.  Winners will be announced via FB on November 2nd. A small prize TBD.  One entry per child.

Pumpkin Carving Contest: All Avery students are welcome to participate in a school wide pumpkin carving contest.  As a parent/guardian, all you have to do is submit a picture of your child's pumpkin via link- https://forms.gle/TzkSNEq9HBEHmwR37. Children can also submit a painted/decorated pumpkin, instead of a carved one. Each grade will have one winner, voted on by the Fall Festival Committee. Entries are being accepted now with a deadline of October 31st.  Winners will be announced via FB on November 2nd. A small prize TBD.  One entry per child.

Lastly, additional scavenger hunt t-shirts for other family members are available to purchase.  They can only be shipped at this time.  Next year, we will give families an opportunity for free pickup.  Visit - https://averyallstars.itemorder.com  to purchase.  All profits from purchased shirts will go to cover the cost of free ones, for the students.  We hope that families will wear their shirts out and about, as they partake in the scavenger hunt.  Please visit our Facebook pages for more details: https://www.facebook.com/AveryFallFestival  and https://www.facebook.com/AveryElementaryPTO.

I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
