Parents have rights regarding student records
All parents may inspect and review their student's education records, seek amendments, consent to disclosures and file complaints regarding the records as allowed by law unless a court order, statute or legally binding document prohibits such access.

Service and Rights for Students with Disabilities

Virtual learning
Students have the options for accessing virtual learning through courses to students through WGSD or through the Missouri Course Access Program (MOCAP).

Bullying policy
In order to promote a safe learning environment for all students, the Webster Groves School District prohibits all forms of bullying. The district also prohibits reprisal or retaliation against any person who reports an act of bullying among or against students.
Participation in Statewide Assessment
The district will use high-quality academic assessments as one indication of the success and quality of the district's education program. Further, the Board recognizes its obligation to provide for and administer assessments as required by law.

Video Monitoring on school property
It is the goal of the Webster Groves School District to provide a safe learning environment for students and a safe working environment for employees. The Board directs the superintendent or designee to routinely inspect the district's property and bring proposals for improving security to the Board.

Asbestos
The U. S. EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) under the Federal Code of Regulations 40 CFR 763.93g(4) requires that building occupants be notified annually of the presence of asbestos in the building and the availability of the Asbestos Management Plan.

Notification of Rights under the Protection of Pupil Right Amendment
The federal Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment affords parents certain rights relative to collecting and using information for marketing purposes as well as conducting certain surveys and physical exams of students by the school district.

Programs for homeless students
The Webster Groves School District Board of Education recognizes that homelessness alone should not be sufficient reason to separate students from the mainstream school environment.
VICC provision
The Webster Groves School District has determined that the Voluntary Interdistrict Choice Corporation (VICC) and its officers, employees and agents are school officials with legitimate educational interests
Emergency preparedness
As part of the implementation of the district's adopted crisis intervention plan, the superintendent or designee has the responsibility for developing and maintaining the district's emergency preparedness plans and emergency drill schedules.
