Summer Exploration Experience

Dates: June 1 - June 26 (no session June 19)
Times: 8 a.m. - 11:40 a.m.

Who Can Attend: Open to all elementary students entering grades 1-5 in the 26-27 school year

Program Details: Students will engage in hands-on, project-based learning which fosters collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.  The program is taught by certified staff.

Celebrate Reading Academy

Dates: June 1 - June 26 (no session June 19)

Times: 12:20 p.m. - 2:50 p.m.

Who Can Attend: This is an invitation-only program students entering grades 1-5 in the 26-27 school year 

Program Details:  Celebrate Reading provides ongoing reading support to students identified by the district.

Jumpstart to Kindergarten

Students may sign up to attend one session

Dates:

Session #1 - June 2 - 12
Session #2 - June 15 - 26 (no session June 19)
Times: 8 a.m. - 11:40 a.m.
Who Can Attend: Students entering kindergarten in the 26-27 school year
Location: Givens Elementary (serving students from Avery, Givens and Hudson) and Bristol Elementary (serving students from Edgar Road, Clark and Bristol)

Program Details: Students will participate in activities that promote the development of literacy, math, art and music abilities as well as social and motor skills. Classroom and school routines will help students make a positive transition to kindergarten. Children must be five before August 1, 2026. 

Families must be registered for kindergarten PRIOR to registering for J2K. You can register here.

Additional Information

Locations
Givens Elementary will host students from Avery, Givens, and Hudson.
Edgar Road Elementary will host students from Bristol, Clark, and Edgar Road.

Bus Transportation
Bus transportation will be available at no cost for students attending summer programs not held at their home school. Buses will pick-up and return students to their home schools.  Register for bus transportation at the time of summer school enrollment within Infinite Campus.  Contact Beverly Brooks at brooks.beverly@wgmail.org with questions.

Meals
A grab-and-go breakfast will be available for students in the morning. Students will also have lunch/recess if they attend either Celebrate Reading or Adventure Club after J2K/SEE.  Students may bring lunch or purchase a hot lunch from the cafeteria.  Families who are eligible for free or reduced meal prices during the school year maintain this status in the summer.
