WGSD: Elementary School Choice for 2021-22

Dear Webster Groves School District Elementary Families,

As most of you are aware, in March of 2020, the WGSD adopted new elementary school boundary lines to be implemented with the start of the 2021-22 school year.  When fully implemented, the boundary lines will bring much needed space relief to overcrowded elementary schools across the district and an attendance zone for the new neighborhood school at Dr. Henry Givens Jr. Elementary.

In order to ensure optimum class sizes and proper staffing and resources at each school, it’s important for us to know well in advance of the start of the 2021-22 school year how many families will choose to move their children (currently in Kdg-4th grade) to their newly zoned elementary school in 2021-22 (if applicable).

To view a map of the current and 2021-22 elementary attendance zones or enter an address to see to which elementary school your address has been zoned, please click on the following link:

Please remember that:

  • Elementary school students new to district elementary schools at the start of the 2021-22 school year, including the siblings of currently enrolled students, will be required to attend the school to which they are zoned, in accordance with the revised elementary boundary lines.

  • Any district family can choose to send their child(ren) to the elementary school for which they're zoned at the start of the 2021-22 school year or any time thereafter. Once such a transition has taken place, children must remain at the new school.

  • The children of non-resident staff entering the WGSD (K-5) in 2021-2022 or after will attend Dr. Henry Givens Jr. Elementary.

  • New intradistrict transfer requests will not be permitted for the 2021-22 school year and beyond.  Kdg-4th grade students currently at a school via an intradistrict transfer request will be permitted to remain at that school for the 2021-22 school year and beyond.

Families who, according to our records, live in a residence that has been rezoned for the 2021-22 school year will soon receive an elementary school choice form  to complete by next Wednesday, January 13  at 11:59 p.m.  If you believe your residence was rezoned and don’t receive the subsequent email today, please email  Also, please know that every elementary school family will be able to see the form in the SIS portal but families aren’t expected to complete it unless your family receives the additional correspondence later today.

We appreciate your support.
