Bus transportation update

7/28/2023 -

We are excited to share some significant news about bus transportation for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

Pending board approval on August 3, the Webster Groves School District will begin providing free bus transportation to the following students:

  • Students in elementary school: Free transportation will be provided if you live 1.5 miles or more from school.
  • Students in middle and high school: Free transportation will be provided if you live 2 miles or more from school.

Families with students who are eligible for free transportation will be notified next week. Families will be required to register for transportation, unless they already have done so for the 2023-2024 school year. Depending on the number of students who sign up, some students may have to be placed on a waiting list. Therefore, we encourage you to carefully consider whether you would like to have your student ride the bus to and from school on a daily basis.

Priority will be given to students who commit to riding the bus daily, both in the morning and afternoon. The deadline to register is August 6. Again, families with students who are eligible for free transportation will be notified next week.

If we receive your form after the deadline, then you may be placed on a waiting list for bus transportation. If there is a high demand, waitlisted students may not secure a spot on the bus until next school year. Students will be expected to ride the bus daily to maintain their spot on the bus.
