Webster Groves High School is pleased to announce that Chris Johnson will be the new Athletic Director for the 2024-25 school year. Chris Johnson is currently serving as the Assistant Athletic Director and Activities Coordinator. He has been in this position the last 2 years. Prior to that, Mr. Johnson served the Webster Groves School District as a high school faculty member, assistant football and basketball coach.
Chris Johnson brings a wealth of experience in high school athletics to this position, having coached all of his 23 years in education. Throughout his tenure, he has coached a variety of sports including 23 years of football, 10 years of basketball, 7 years as a track coach, on both the men’s and women’s side. He has coached in four state semifinals and 1 state championship game while coaching football in Texas at Denton Guyer High School. Johnson also brings previous head coaching experience to this position having served as head football coach at DeSoto High School for five seasons. He holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Administration, and is in the process of securing his Certified Athletic Administration certification.
