STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Students please remember that hoodies are not to be worn in the building.   

Students are to remain in the cafeteria, commons and courtyard during the entire lunch. 

 

Attention students interested in being a Camp Wyman counselor for this fall that picked up an application at registration; please turn that into the activities office as soon as possible. You can still stop by the activities office to pick up an application if you have not already.

 

If you have not already picked up your bus pass from Mrs. McKittrick, you must pick it up by this week.  The buses will no longer allow students on board without your pass.  You can pick them up before or after school in Office 308.

 

Students looking for A+ volunteer hours?  The District Wellness Committee is looking for 1-2 high school students to provide childcare for several meetings at Edgar Rd Elementary in the library for one hour beginning tonight, Tuesday, August 20 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. Please see Gayna Winkelmann in Office 157 for more information.

 

WG Drama will begin it’s auditions for the 2019 Fall musical “Chicago”  - today right after school in the Drama Dept starting at 3:00pm. Additional auditioning for this production will be held Wed and Thurs as well depending. Please see Mr. Schaefer with any questions.

 

All students interested in participating in WGHS Step Team are welcomed to attend an informational today (Tuesday, August 20) at 2:45pm in RM 252. All students interested are required to attend in order to receive their STEP TEAM PACKET. If you attended the first informational in the spring, you do not need to attend this informational.  If you have any questions or unable to attend, please see Ms. Jordan in RM 252.

 

Auditions are being held for a new performing ensemble, the Statesmen Symphony!  We need talented string players, wind players and percussionists for this group.  Please see Mrs. Young or Mr. Pulliam to get audition music and to sign up for an audition time.  Auditions will be held the August 26th - August 29th before and after school.

 

Inter-State Studio will be here on Wednesday, September 4 to take pictures of any students or staff members that have NOT had a picture taken yet. Seniors only will be from 7:30-11:30 and freshmen, sophomores, juniors and staff from 11:30-3:30. We will call out students via the intercom alphabetically.

CLUB / STUCO MEETINGS

MONDAY

- FCCLA / culinary club will have an informational meeting on Monday, August 26 after school in Mrs. Maedge’s room 228B.

 

TUESDAY

- Art Club will have their first meeting of the year today (Tuesday, August 20) after school in room 190. 

- Our first INTERNATIONAL CLUB meeting will be an ice cream social in Señora Harter’s room (361) after school on TUESDAY, August 27th.

 

WEDNESDAY

 Tri-M Music Honor Society will have a meeting this Wed. Aug. 21 before school in the Choir Room. 

- Amnesty International will have their first meeting on this Wednesday at 730 a.m. in 272.  Any student interested in human rights are welcome to attend.

- Attention all Statesmen. You are invited to the first meeting of the year for the Statesmen Student Council. Stuco will meet Wednesday before school in Mrs. Maedge's room 228B at 7:30 and after school at 2:50 in the P.V. Commons. Please see Mrs. Maedge for more information!

­- The book club will have their first meeting tomorrow in the library after school from dismissal to 3:30, it’s really fun and exciting for book loving students!

 

THURSDAY

  - Interested in photography? Come to Yearbook Photography Club’s interest meeting Thursday the 22nd in 334E. Beginners are welcome. See Keane or Reiss with questions.

-  Tri-M Music Honor Society will have a new member breakfast before school on Thurs., Aug. 29th starting at 7:15 am in the Choir Room.  All band, choir and orchestra students are welcome to attend.
