Congratulations to Fall Sports Athletes!

This fall marked another season of athletic accomplishment for WGHS students participating in a variety of sports. Congratulations to all students who participated in athletic activities this term.

The girls tennis team turned in its best season in school history, with a 12-1 record. In the postseason district tournament, their two doubles teams each placed in the individual portion of the tournament. Julie Bardelmeier and Audrey Swaine
placed first and Calli Hepfinger and Addison Simpson took 3rd in doubles. As district champions, Julie and Audrey also qualified for the MSHSAA state tournament in Springfield

The girls golf team took second place in the Class 3 state tournament with a two-day total of 703 at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, matching its second-place team finish of 1985. The team won the state crown in 1984. This year's team finished with two all-state golfers, Jenna Clark (sixth) and Sarah Ewing (11th) as both shot 80 over the final 18 holes.

Cross country and boys soccer start their districts this weekend.

Announcements will made Monday on which boys swimmers and divers will go to state.

Pumpkin Compost Collection Sat., Nov. 6

Is your pumpkin getting soft and gooey? That’s only natural! Did you know that pumpkins left to rot in the trash will release pumpkin recyclingmethane and methane is a stronger greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide? Your pumpkin can be turned back into nutrient-rich soil when composted.

The Webster Groves Sustainability Commission and the Public Works Department is hosting the first Annual Pumpkin Compost Collection. Please keep your pumpkin from the landfill and bring it to the Moss Field parking lot on Saturday, November 6 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
