Welcome to The Paw Print! Here is what’s happening at Edgar Road:

Dear Jaguar Families,
Day one and two have gone very well. Staff and students are working on classroom routines, procedures and expectations. This is a great time for you to do the same. Start now with your morning and after school routine. Review explicitly; what time do they get up in the morning, where should your child keep their backpack, what time certain things will happen-homework (reading or other), bedtime, etc. This sets the stage early for “school day” routines which may be different than “weekend or no-school day routines”.

Thank you for following the dismissal procedures these two days. It is very important that everyone only make a right-hand turn in and out of the drive at dismissal. Additionally, there is no stopping on Edgar Road. If the circle is full, you will need to circle back or arrive a few minutes later. If you have an older student and you are comfortable with meeting them at Cornerstone Church, please do so. The church is happy to provide their parking lot as a meeting place. For your convenience, we have attached the dismissal procedures again.

On behalf of the staff, we are privileged to work with your children everyday and look forward to an amazing school year of learning and fun.

Dr. Julie Wuch

PTO News
The Edgar Road PTO is excited to welcome back everyone for the 2019-2020 school year! Our vision is to foster community through events and get togethers; host fundraisers to support our staff and school and to provide a supportive network where EVERYONE can participate, receive support and have FUN! PTO is open to every parent and we want to connect with you! Check out our Facebook via the first link below to stay up to date on PTO events and updates throughout the year!

We also need your time and talents to make many of our special events at ERS a reality. No matter how much time you have to offer - there is a job for you! Many volunteer needs are a "one time thing" and do not require attending meetings or more than an hour or two of your time this year. The second link will direct you to Sign Up Genius where you can virtually sign up for the volunteer opportunity that is right for you. A big thank you to all of our volunteers who have already helped out thus far this year!!/showSignUp/4090c4aa9aa23a4f94-ptoparent

Please mark your calendars for our first meeting, Thursday, September 5th at 6:30pm. Babysitting will be provided. We do our very best to keep our meetings to one hour. See you there!

We hope all of the new families to Edgar Road enjoyed the welcome to Edgar Road yard signs. If you received one of these signs, please return them to the school office so they can be used again next year. We appreciate all of the volunteers who helped welcome our new families

From the Counselor
Welcome back from the Counseling Department!! I am looking forward to a fantastic 2019-2020 school year!

This year, I will have two new people working in the ‘counseling hallway’. Deidre Townsend is a social worker that will be joining us at ER on Thursdays, Fridays and every other Wednesday. Deidre is a graduate of WGSD and will be splitting her time between Edgar and Bristol. Whitney Silva is my new counseling aid. She will be at ER daily from 9:00 - 1:00. Whitney has four children and two of her four attend school in the WGSD! If you get a chance, stop by and welcome my new team to Edgar Road!

Classroom lessons will start the week of August 26th and go every other week. Each grade level will start their year by reviewing the Zones of Regulation. I will talk more about the Zones in next week’s Paw Print.
I hope everyone had a great start to their school year! If you need to get a hold of me at any time you can:

Call: 314-918-4503 or email:
I always do my best to answer phone calls and emails within one day. I also am usually posted in the front foyer during arrival, if you need to catch me!

Looking forward to a great year!
