Talk with the Board
Do you have questions or comments for the Board of Education? Plan to attend the next "Let's Talk" session with the board, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 at St. Louis Bread Co. in Webster Groves.
The next session will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wed., Nov. 7 at Global Brew in Rock Hill.
Don't forget to send in those Box Tops! There is a basket in the office where you can drop them off. Every little bit helps! Our fall submission is next month, so keep clipping! Contact Meagan Wade (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions.
Webster Groves PAC
Are you confused about special education services? Are you uncertain and have some unanswered questions about available resources? Would you like to meet other parents who might be in a similar situation? If so, we invite you to attend the Parent Advisory Council meeting on October 1 at Steger’s Sixth Grade Library at 6-8 PM . The Webster Groves District Parent Advisory Council (PAC) was formed by families who expect that children with disabilities and/or unique learning needs are educated effectively, afforded the dignity of belonging, and valued throughout all Webster Groves School District learning opportunities and experiences.
On October 1, Debra Fiasco and Michelle Levi-Perez, administrators at SSD’s Department of Parent Education and Diversity, plan to provide parents with an overview of special education services provided through Special School District. Parents will take a closer look at how to develop an effective Individualized Education Program (IEP) and understand more about their rights (procedural safeguards). The presenters also understand that sometimes our children demonstrate behavior that is difficult to understand and they will walk through how to address this behavior and the manifestation of this behavior within the IEP process. Other topics presenters are prepared to present are individual determination, facilitated IEPS, educational rights, and community resources. We hope you will be able to make this informative meeting as there will be plenty of time for parent questions and answers.
The District Wellness Committee would like to hear your thoughts and feedback on the Food Service in the Webster Groves School District. Please click on the link below to complete a short survey. The survey will be open from Tuesday September 18 – Sunday October 7. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Pumpkins and Pancakes
The Pumpkins and Pancakes dinner fundraiser is happening on Friday, October 12th from 5-7pm in Hudson's gym. Join us and try to catch the pancakes flying off the griddle! The cost is $7/person for all-you can eat pancakes, sausage, milk, and orange drink. We will also have raffles and sign-up parties from our awesome teachers along with crafts and games for all ages.
Check out Hudson ROCKS Guidance for monthly updates from Ms. Diemler.
Her page on the school website also provides information about the school counseling program at Hudson. (Look for updated links mid-September as the district transitions to a new format from last year.)
Enjoy the weekend,
