Welcome back to a new school year Hudson Families. We LOVED having students back in the building. This year, I will again be sending a weekly update on Friday with important dates, notes, etc. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact me with questions. Below are highlights for week 2.

PTO Buzz Book
PTO will be collating our annual Buzz Book will be coming out in early September. This is is a place where student contact information is shared (name, address, phone, parents’ names). This is only shared with parents at Hudson, however, if you do NOT want a portion or all of your information shared please notify Stephanie Margolis at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Online Registration and Form Updates
Registration and all forms for Back to School will be completed online this year. Please keep in mind that within this registration are the AUP and Media Exclusion forms that need to be completed in order for students to access the internet. Just a reminder that school begins each day at 8:20 a.m. and dismisses at 3:00 p.m. Students eating breakfast at Hudson are able to enter the building at 7:50 a.m. For safety purposes, we ask that all students arrive between 8:05 and 8:15 and line up in their designated areas.
Unless students are eating breakfast at Hudson, we ask that they not arrive prior to 8:05 a.m. due to adult supervision. If your child rides a bike to school, we ask that if he/she is in grades K-2 he/she be accompanied by an adult. The bike racks are located on the blacktop by the basketball goals on the west side of the building. Also, students need to use crosswalks when they are available. If your child is a car rider in grades K-3, please drop him/her off in our circle drive. Also, we ask that you wait for the cars in front of you to exit the drive, before leaving. Please do not go around any cars. Kindergarten and first grade students will line up by
grade level at the doors closest to the office. Second and third grade students will line up by the doors closest to the library.
If your child is a car rider in grades four or five, please drop them off in our circle drive and then they are to proceed to our back lot near the Hudson Garden OR they can be dropped off from O’Day. If you pull onto O’Day, please do NOT turn around in the driveways of neighbors. We do block our parking lot off during this time to help ensure the safety of our students. They will then line up on the black top near our garden.
Dismissal will begin at 3:00. Dismissal on early release days will begin at 11:45. These dates can be found on the District calendar and in this newsletter. Students who are riding bikes will be dismissed from the rear of the building. Students who are walking home will be dismissed from classrooms and will be supervised by staff members as they leave. If you are picking your child up from school and you choose not to be a part of the pick-up line, please come to the atrium. If you are picking your child up from school and are part of the pick-up line please enter the front circle of the school using the Kortwright/Hudson entrance. A staff member will be supervising this line and will call for students to be dismissed via the main entrance.
