Hudson Girls on the Run, Grades 3rd-5th
Spring season is right around the corner! Girls on the Run registration opens Tuesday January 18th! Girls on the Run is a physical activity based positive youth development program designed to develop and enhance girls' social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. No running experience necessary! See the Girls on the Run St Louis website for more information. Practices will start Monday March 7, and occur every Monday and Wednesday after school from 2:50-4:15PM at Hudson (not including spring break), with an end of season 5K on May 14. Please contact Meagan Wade (email@example.com) for more information and questions.
We've been busy and wanted to share some exciting updates with you. As always, be sure to check our site for updates at bit.ly/hudsonplay.
- Warson Woods has agreed to support the project and will be joining Rock Hill in a joint application for the Municipal Grant! This increases our chances of approval this August and could potentially increase our budget
- Rock Hill has begun the process of hiring an architect for the project and will begin the planning grant and design process once solidified. There will be a couple of public hearings to share ideas and gather input from the communities. Stay tuned for more info on these in the upcoming months
- We're still collecting athletic shoes (rubber soles, good condition, no holes, tears or rips)
Thank you for all your continued support,
The Playground Committee
Notes From The Nurse:
It can be difficult to keep up with ever-changing health guidance and protocols. The following points are intended to help clarify some commonly asked questions. As always, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
At-home testing - WGSD accepts POSITIVE at-home test results only. We do NOT accept negative at-home test results. Rapid tests are accepted if they are a Rapid PCR test.
Vaccine status is the biggest determinant of the need for quarantine. Provided they do not have symptoms, fully vaccinated students do NOT need to quarantine, even if they are exposed to or living with an individual with active COVID.
Children 5-17 years old are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Pfizer booster doses for those 12-17 provide optimal protection against contracting COVID and minimizing the severity of symptoms and they are highly recommended.
Unless fully vaccinated and without symptoms, siblings must stay home from school while a symptomatic sibling is waiting for test results.
Current quarantines for the WGSD are being issued for 10, 15, and 20 days, depending upon specific circumstances.
As long as the student no longer has symptoms, they may return to school after a period of 10 days isolation for a positive COVID case, Letters of Release from Isolation are no longer required by the district.
