Notes:
Arrival and Dismissal
As we head into the last several weeks of school, I would like to remind families of our arrival and dismissal times. Arrival begins at 7:40 and our instructional time in classrooms begins promptly at 7:50. When students arrive after the 7:50 start time, it causes disruptions for them and for others in the classroom. Dismissal is at 2:50. We ask that you please arrive on time to pick up your student(s). Thank you for your support with this.
Headphones
Please check with your student and/or your student's teacher to make sure he/she has headphones for the MAP test which begins next week. This is very important!
PTO Executive Board
PTO is accepting nominations for the executive board positions at this link:
https://forms.gle/WkpBhs9kuUki2fbs7
We invite you to self-nominate or nominate someone else you think would be great! We welcome all parents who are interested in participating. This is a wonderful way to get to know other families at Hudson.
We will accept nominations through April 28th at the above link.
Cinco de Mayo Parking Fundraiser Needs You!
Sign up to help with one of Hudson PTO's most entertaining fundraising events of the year! Come alone or bring your family and friends. There is music playing and a festive atmosphere. Jobs are as simple as holding signs, showing cars where to park and collecting money.
Though this event is on a work/school day this year -- Thursday, May 5 -- Hacienda anticipates large crowds starting as early as 11 a.m. and their parking lot to fill up quickly. Historically, the best alternative parking for revelers is across the street in the Olympia Gymnastics lot and at Hudson, so that's where we come in -- guiding them to a legal parking spot and thanking them for their donation in support of the Hudson community!
Questions? Email Dave Powers at dcpowersjr@gmail.com and Leah Rush at meleahrush@gmail.com -- we are happy to help!

Join the Spring Spruce Up on Sunday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m.
After a loooong winter, the Hudson PTO Beautification committee needs you and yours to come help clean up the campus! We will rake our fall mulch (no fresh mulch to spread this year!), weed the beds, remove sticks and pitch litter. It really is fun for the whole family! We'll start on Sunday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m. Please join us at any time you are available -- we'll be there until around noon and it is easy to pop in for a few minutes to pitch in. Questions? Email Leah Rush at meleahrush@gmail.com
Playground Updates:
Golf Scramble
Don't forget, the Hudson Playground Committee will be hosting a golf scramble May 7th, 3pm at Normandy Golf Course. Registration is $40/per person. For more information and to register, click here or visit https://hudsonplay.square.site/ . Registration will be open through April 22nd.
Review the Designs & Give Feedback
The architect firm DG2 anticipates the following timeline to show designs and gather feedback from the community. Please look out for communication regarding these and/or check the timeline page on our website often for updates. Community input will be incredibly important to the success of this project!
- April 20-May 4: First draft of design plans and an online survey. Plans will be available for 2 weeks giving the community the opportunity to look over and submit feedback/thoughts.
- June 15: Updated plans will be on display at the Hudson Playground for the community to review and give final feedback/thoughts.
- August: Application and designs submitted for Municipal Park grant
Hudson Happy Hour
There will be a Hudson Happy Hour at Royal Oak Park in Warson Woods on Sunday, April 24th beginning at 3:00.
Take care,
Lisa
