STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wyman counselors are invited to the Steger winter sing along this Friday, Dec. 21 at 2:00. In order to surprise the 6th graders, please come to the back door by the band rooms and someone will let you in.

Final exams are scheduled for December 18-21.  Students will not take finals in Academic Lab, student assistant periods, Peer Tutoring, or Study Hall.  A 90-minute final exam will occur in all other classes.  On December 18, everyone is expected to be in attendance, as it is a special schedule.  On December 19-21, you should not be in the building if you do not have an exam or are not studying in Academic Lab; otherwise, you will be assigned to a supervised study hall.  Activity buses are for athletes only.  Everyone else should promptly exit the building.  Students are also prohibited from going to Hixson.

During finals, our Webster students who reside in the city have the opportunity to stay and work after finals.  A bus will be available for those that choose to work with a teacher and or visit the library.  If you choose to take this bus, it will require a pass from a teacher that they are working with.  Questions; see one of the principles.

Students please remember to turn in your student assistant forms to your counselor prior to break. Forms are available in the counseling office.

The Tutoring Center will be closed during half-day finals, December 19-21.

All laptops checked out from the library must be brought back by today (Dec. 17th) so they can be updated. At that time they can be renewed for second semester.

The 2019 All Write festival has lift off! We are excited to announce that this year’s theme is SPACE. Senior Sam Hayden designed our new logo; check it out on social media @allwritewghs.

But there’s more! The Jonathan Franzen Excellence in Student Writing Contest will open the day we return from winter break. All Write is seeking submissions of original student writing. Judges will narrow down a list of semifinalists to share their pieces during the All Write festival this March. The author of the best piece will win $100. Questions? Ask your English teacher or Ac Lab teacher.

The 2019 All Write festival is sure to be out of this world!
