STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

If you are taking the ACT tomorrow (Saturday) please remember the following:

  • You will need to arrive no later than 7:55 a.m.  If you arrive after 8:00 a.m., you will be denied admission to the test.
  • You need a photo ID AND admission ticket to be admitted to your test room.
  • Please be respectful of others when you are on your breaks, and keep noise to a minimum.
  • We no longer accept standbys.

 

We will be passing our Renaissance cards during 3rd hour today. Thank you for allowing us this time to recognize our students.

 

All Write Artists are encouraged to visit room 198 after school on TUESDAYs.  We will have open studio for you to access materials, artistic expertise and a creative community.

 

Eat a crepe and help raise money for a local women’s shelter. $1 only! Tuesday, February 12 during both lunches. Located at the junior entrance.

 

Next Wednesday, February 13 at the jazz concert, Webster Feeds is having a "light drive". They are also planning a "miracle minute" to collect cash.

Please bring in “light” items (no cans for this event please):

  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Grains
  • Hot and cold cereal
  • Baby cereal

Please NO Ramen Noodles

 

Student Council is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, Feb. 21st in the secondary gym.  You must be 17 or older to donate blood.  If you are 16, you can donate with a parent permission slip.  If you haven’t signed up to donate yet, stop by Mrs. Cole’s room (350) to sign up!  Thanks for helping to save lives with your donation!

 

SENIORS

Seniors, cap and gown orders are due by February 18th. If you are attending graduation and planning on walking, please make sure you have submitted your order and payment of $29 to Ms. Cotner at the main office. If you have any questions, please see her.

 

Seniors:  Don’t forget to submit your local scholarship applications.  All are due February 14 or 15.  Give yourself plenty of time to request transcripts and recommendations.  Applications are available online on the Counseling Department web page.  See Mrs. Erb in the main office with any questions.

 

CLUB / STUCO MEETINGS

 

MONDAY

- Video Game Club meets on Monday’s in room 395 from 2:45-4:00.

 

TUESDAY

- Pep Club meets on Tuesdays, 7:25 a.m., in room 276.

- The Vegetarian and Vegan Club meets every Tuesday at 7:30am in room 380.

- Art club will meet Tuesdays from 2:35-4pm in room 190.

- Scholar Bowl practice Tuesday afternoon starting at 2:45 in room 200 Chelsea Center.

- Tri-M will be meeting after school today in the Orchestra Room.

- Yearbook Photography Club will have a brief meeting Tuesday the 12th after school in Ms. Keane’s Room, # 222. Snacks will be provided and new members are welcome.

 

WEDNESDAY

- Chess Club meets on Wednesday after school in room 356.

- Student Council meets every other Wednesday before and after school in the PV Commons, (next meeting is February 20th). 

- Student Council class meetings take place every other Wednesday after school @ 2:45pm (next meeting is February 13th):

Freshmen meet in the Guidance Center (Verstraete’s office)

Sophomores meet in room 251 (Rutz’s room)

Juniors meet in 217 (Pott’s room)

Seniors meet in FACS room (Maedge’s room)

 

THURSDAY

- History Club will meets every Thursday morning at 7:25 in Chelsea Center room 200.  

- Anime Club meets every Thursday after school until 3:30pm in the PD Room by Jr Entrance.

- Scholar Bowl practice Thursday afternoon starting at 2:45 in room 200 Chelsea Center.

- The Mindful Eating Club meets on Thursday’s after school from 2:40-3:15 in room 206.

- The Creative Writing Club meets every Thursday after school in Room 334A.

  

FRIDAY

Tea club meets Friday morning in 272.  All are welcome.

- Economics Club meets every Friday after school in room 357.

 

ATHLETIC

The boys’ lacrosse team is having a meeting after school today at 2:45 in Mr. Grote’s room 260. If you are planning on playing lacrosse or have any questions about it come to this meeting.

 

All boys interested in joining the tennis team please come to an informational meeting on Thursday the 14th directly after school in room 282. Please see coach Verstraete if you have any further questions.

 

If you are planning on going to the boys JV or varsity basketball games next Tuesday at Hazelwood Central…..tickets are ONLY available in advance. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased in the Activities Office or in the ticket booth at this Friday’s game.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

It’s time for the Webster Challenge College Bus Tour.  This year we will be traveling with Kirkwood High School to Washington D.C. March 14th -20th to visit colleges and universities along with visiting historical sites. If you would like more information regarding this college bus tour, please stop by office 157. Please know that space is limited.

 

For those students that would like A Plus tutoring hours, Hixon Middle School needs tutors from 3:25-4:15 Tuesdays, Weds and Thursdays.  Please go to Office 157 for more information.
