STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

All summer reading books are due Friday September 6th. Please return them to the library.

Students: please turn in your Summer Reading forms this week to be recognized and receive small gift.

 

Join the Cheerleaders and Pep Club this Friday at 7:30 A.M. in Roberts Gym to learn our student section cheers! All are welcome!

 

If you’re a Freshmen interested in joining Pep Club, see Mr. Smith in room 204 or room 280 to get connected!

 

Attention students interested in being a Camp Wyman counselor for this fall that picked up an application at registration; please turn that into the activities office as soon as possible. You can still stop by the activities office to pick up an application if you have not already.

 

Inter-State Studio is here today to take pictures of any students or staff members who have NOT yet been photographed. Seniors will begin to be called out via the intercom very soon and freshmen, sophomores, juniors and staff will be this afternoon from 11:30-3:30. We will call out students via the intercom alphabetically. Please report to the PD room off of junior entrance.

CLUB / STUCO MEETINGS

MONDAY

- FCCLA is now the Culinary Club. We will be having our first cooking event next Monday, September 9th. Please come ready to cook. You will need your membership fee and closed toed shoes. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Meadge or Ms. Shea.

 

TUESDAY

- Art Club meets every Tuesday after school in room 190. 

- Join the Cycling Club each Tuesday morning, at 7:30 in room 358.

 

WEDNESDAY

- Amnesty International meets every Wednesday at 730 a.m. in 272.

- The Statesmen Symphony will begin rehearsals today (Wednesday, September 4th) see Mrs. Young or Mr. Pulliam for more information and to set up an audition time.

 

THURSDAY

-  Steampunk Club is having their meeting tomorrow (Thursday) after school in Room 385.

- The Yearbook Photography Club has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, September 5th) after school in room 334E (yearbook room).

- History Club will meet tomorrow Thursday morning at 7:25 in room 276. Bring a friend and come for bagels. We will be planning 9/11 activities and will discuss plans for the rest of the year.

- Know a lot about one thing or know a little about a lot of things? Would you like to have fun competing in jeopardy-type tournaments with a team? Come find out about WGHS Scholar Bowl teams tomorrow (Thursday) after school in room 276. See Mrs. Burchett if you have questions.

- Our first Interact Club meeting was planned to happen on Tuesday. We are postponing the meeting to tomorrow (Thursday, September 5th) at 7:15am in room 159.

Interested in serving senior citizens in our community?  The Shepherd’s Center is looking for volunteers for an event this fall and for help throughout the year with raking, weeding, and maintaining the lawns of seniors in Webster Groves and Kirkwood.  If you or your team are looking for a service opportunity, pop into the Chelsea Center in Room 200 to sign up!
