STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

 Reminder we have a late start schedule on Monday, October 14th. Students will miss two class periods (1/7) to accommodate time for teachers to meet in their PLC.  All late start days will begin at 8:57am and two class periods will be dropped. The building opens at 8:00 and students should enter through the senior entrance. If students arrive between 8:00-8:30 they need to stay in the cafeteria and library. After 8:30 students may enter the building through the junior, senior or Roberts Gym entrances.

 

2nd qtr. bus money is due on October 17th.  It can be dropped off to Mrs. McKittrick in Office 308.

 

Students, are not allowed to leave the cafeteria without a pass.  Students who are visiting a teacher or working in the library need to have a pass.  Without it, you may not leave the cafeteria. 

 

Students as the weather turns colder, please remember that hoodies are not to be worn with the hood up.  We appreciate your cooperation.  

 

The library will be closed after school today due to parent teacher conferences. 

If you have signed up for the DECA Kickball tournament, you can drop off individual or team money to Mrs. McKittrick in Office 308.

 

Yoga for the students will start the second half of both lunches on Wednesdays starting next week (Wed Oct 16th).  Meet in the Multipurpose Room (Rm 146) Wednesdays: the last half of 1st Lunch (11:19-11:34) and 2nd Lunch (12:21-12:36) for Back Trap Yoga. Back Trap Yoga is a musically driven yoga flow paired with trap music, R&B, electronic, jazz and more. We’ll pack a lot into 15 minutes, spending time centering, finding our breath, building heat through different poses and winding down to help you power through the rest of your day.

Webster Challenge is sponsoring the annual college bus tour. The bus tour will visit Atlanta Georgia. Students will have an opportunity to visit Spelman and Morehouse College and Georgia Tech University. In addition, students will have an opportunity to visit many historical cultural sites. If you would like more information about this unique opportunity please stop by office 157.

 

Any girls interested in joining a Boy Scout troop that will be for girls only stop by the activities office to put your name on a sign-up sheet.

 

The Spanish Club Pulseva Project sale will be held during both lunches on Thursday and the following Monday (Oct 7). The bracelets are from a non-project organization called the Pulseva Project. All bracelets are $5.00 and all the money will support the artists who made the bracelets back in Nicaragua.

 

The 40th Annual Glendale Firehouse Run will be held on Sunday, October 27. On-line registration and information can be found at www.glendalemo.org.

- Art Club meets every Tuesday after school in room 190. 

- Join the Cycling Club each Tuesday morning, at 7:30 in room 358.

- Scholar Bowl will practice after school on Tuesday’s in room 276.

 

WEDNESDAY

- Amnesty International meets every Wednesday at 730 a.m. in 272.

- Speak-Up meets in the Chelsea Center every Wednesday after school. Everyone is welcome.

- History Club will meet every Thursday morning at 7:25 in room 276.

Interested in serving senior citizens in our community?  The Shepherd’s Center is looking for volunteers for an event this fall and for help throughout the year with raking, weeding, and maintaining the lawns of seniors in Webster Groves and Kirkwood.  If you or your team are looking for a service opportunity, pop into the Chelsea Center in Room 200 to sign up!
