Basketball teams host annual Douglass Night

2/8/2023 -

Statesmen girls and boys varsity basketball teams will wear purple Douglass High School basketball jerseys this Friday, February 10, in honor of the former school in north Webster that closed in 1956.

At its inception, Douglass High School was the only high school for African American students in St. Louis County. The school, known for its prestigious standards, educated students from the current Webster Groves School District, as well as surrounding areas.

Join us this Friday at 5:45 p.m. for the girls varsity game, followed by the boys game at 7:30 p.m., as we honor Douglass and its rich history. Between the games, both teams will be honoring faculty and staff from WGHS.
