Emily Burst named new Edgar Road principal

Emily Burst has been named the new principal of Edgar Road Elementary School, effective immediately.

Prior to joining Edgar Road as interim principal, Ms. Burst served as the elementary assistant principal at Bristol Elementary from 2021 to spring 2023. Before that, she served as an elementary assistant principal in the Hancock Place School District from 2019 to 2021. Burst began her career in education as an elementary teacher in the Wentzville School District in 2010 before moving to Affton School District for six years.

Ms. Burst holds an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and a Masters of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University, and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Rockhurst University. 

“In her years at Bristol and short time at Edgar Road, Ms. Burst has demonstrated that she is an excellent leader who cares deeply for children, staff and families,” Webster Groves School District Superintendent Dr. John Simpson said. “She has exceptionally strong knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning, and possesses the skills required to capably lead a school community forward with confidence.”
