Clark's 2nd Annual Fun Fair - Volunteers Still Needed
Clark’s Second Annual Fun Fair is this Friday, May 17th from 5:30-8:00pm on the Clark School Grounds.
This fun event is open to the Clark community and sponsored by the Clark PTO. There will be bounce houses, games, prizes, professional face painting, balloon making and carnival themed food to purchase.
To make this event a success we need your help! We are looking for volunteers to help run games, bounce houses and serve food……older siblings are welcome!! We also need people to sign up to make sweet treats for the cake walk. We are looking for homemade items as well as store bought. The PTO Needs Your Help - Jr. Co-President needed
The Clark PTO Executive Board is still looking for a parent to serve as a Jr. Co-President. This is a 2-year term where you will learn the ropes as a Jr. Co-President before serving as a Sr. Co-President. Additionally, since this is a Co-President position, you share responsibilities with another parent. The PTO Jr. Presidents serve as parliamentarian at all monthly PTO meetings; act as an aide to the Senior Presidents; attend or review minutes of the bi-monthly school board meetings and report critical information to the Executive Board; serve as liaisons to the Webster Groves School District Foundation, and participate in budget conversations. This is an exciting opportunity to have a real impact on the functioning of the Clark PTO and the many benefits it provides to the broader Clark community. These teachers are providing innovative and dynamic learning opportunities in their classrooms with the help from grants awarded by the WGSD Foundation. Clark Elementary - Total Awarded $2,529.00
All the Feels, Social Emotional Learning - $2,529.00 - This “Second Step” program takes place in partnership with the University of Missouri - Columbia’s Department of Special Education. The curriculum a will help ensure academic success for elementary school students experiencing personal trauma (home life), peer anxiety, and low socio-emotional functioning by reinforcing skills and encouraging positive behaviors that promote self-regulation, emotion management, problem solving, and responsible decision-making. The program creatively interweaves catchy songs, fun games, and other engaging activities that develop social-emotional skills and are beneficial for all students; children learn how to make friends, manage their emotions, solve problems, and deal with peer pressure.
Used Marker Recycling
Mrs. Garwitz's Kindergarten Class is coordinating an effort to collect used markers that will be recycled via the Crayola ColorCycle program. See the ColorCycle flyer for all the important details.
