PTO Exec Board - Communications position open!
The PTO Executive Board is looking to fill an opening on the Communications team for a 2-year term. The Communications Team creates the weekly Eagle Eye newsletter, maintains the Clark PTO Website, posts to the Clark PTO Facebook Page, and any other communications related tasks as needed. This position typically requires 1-2 hours weekly in addition to attending scheduled PTO Meetings. Training will be provided as necessary so you don't have to be a super techie! If you are interested, please email the PTO Communications mailbox.
Kindergarten Girl Scouts
Calling all KINDERGARTEN girls. Would you like to be a Girl Scout? We are looking to form a troop and need a leader. If you are interested in either or both please contact Jenn Monaco at 314-503-7575. There will also be a virtual information night on Sept 21, 2020 at 6:00pm.
Important Announcements from Dr. Hays
Over the next few weeks, your student will be given assessments for reading and writing. Some of these assessments will be in a one-on-one breakout room with a reading specialist or another staff member from the Webster Groves School District. These testing sessions will be recorded. During these assessments, please refrain from assisting your student. These assessments are not for a grade, but to guide classroom instruction.
School District Discipline Policies
This year, the district has posted all Board of Education discipline policies together online, rather than printing them out for everyone at the beginning of the year. They can be found under the Need to Know, Parents tab on the district home page and in the drop-down About menu on the school home pages or directly at this link: WGSD Discipline Policies. The online policies offer the ability to search and importantly will reflect any revisions made over the course of the year.
Update from Nurse Meagan
Hello Clark Families!!
I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to share with you a recent video from Mayo Clinic that can help prepare children for a COVID-19 nasal swab test if they have to get one and ease some of their potential fear and anxiety. When children are prepared to take a medical test, they become more cooperative and compliant, which creates a positive coping experience for them. The video also has other information about coronavirus in kid-friendly language. It is appropriate for kids as young as 4 years old! Let me know or your care provider know if you have any questions!
4th Grade Girl Scouts
Clark’s 4th grade Girl Scout troop has open spots available. With us, you’ll discover the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ in you, and watch her shine, again and again. A few things already planned for the year include camping, robotics, space exploration, and of course COOKIES. Please email Meagan Jobin if you are interested or for more details.
