Class of 2022 Senior Parade on May 21st

Come celebrate the Class of 2022 for the first Senior Car Parade! The parade will be held on May 21, 2022 at 10am. The Seniors will decorate their cars and parade down Lockwood Ave between Rockhill St and Gore St. Grab some breakfast or a coffee from one of our restaurants while you line the street to help celebrate the Class of 2022! 

Clark Equity Cooperative Highway Clean Up, May 22nd

The Clark Equity group has adopted a highway! We would like to invite you to lend a helping hand to assist in a community clean up. We'll gather from 2-4pm on Sunday May 22 at the Berry Road & Highway 44 East Bound ON RAMP (consider walking or parking in the neighborhood right behind the highway-Grove or Armin). We will provide all the necessary safety equipment and bags. Please note that MODOT only permits children 10 and older to participate. Free Dental Clinic on July 15th and 16th

The Missouri Mission of Mercy (MOMOM) will be held July 15 & 16, 2022 at the Chaifetz Arena on SLU’s campus. This 100 chair dental clinic will provide cleanings, fillings and extractions for patients ages 5 and up who need dental care and cannot access it easily. We hope to treat 600 people each day. People are seen on a first come, first serve basis. No registration is required. You don’t have to be from Missouri. We will not ask for ID or proof of residence or employment. This is a gift to the community. All treatment is free and provided by licensed professional dentists. This clinic was last held in St Louis in 2014 and will not likely be held here again for the foreseeable future. It is a wonderful opportunity for people who suffer from tooth pain or who need basic dental services to improve their oral health. Proposition S, WGSD's $45 Million No-Tax-Rate Increase Bond Issue

The Board of Education has unanimously approved a recommendation to place a $45 million no-tax-rate increase on the Aug. 2nd ballot. If approved, the money would be used to improve aging buildings and learning environments across the district. The proposal addresses electrical upgrades, mitigation for water infiltration, accessibility and more.

Troop 2705 Recyclables Collection

Thank Clark's 5th grade Girl Scout troop is collecting recyclables for an upcoming event and need your help. We are specifically looking for milk jugs, toilet paper rolls, and small plastic containers. There will be a collection bin in the front entrance foyer for the last few weeks of school. Please help us out if you can!

Eye Thrive Visits

Eye Thrive will offer free eye exams and glasses at six SLCL locations this summer. Eye exams will be administered starting at 9:00 a.m. at each of the dates and locations listed below. Capacity is limited. Exams will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis until all spots are filled. All services are provided free of charge. A parental consent form must be completed prior to the eye exam. Any child age 4-18 is eligible for an eye exam and glasses.

Registration for Late Start Supervision is until June 30th

Beginning in the 22-23 school year, the Webster Groves School District has added late start days to the school calendar (22-23 School Calendar). Families who need help with student supervision on late start days can participate in a program available at each building (K-12). 

Elementary Schools (K-5): Avery, Bristol, Clark, Edgar Road, Givens, and Hudson

Late Start Supervision Program: 7:40am-8:50am

School Day Arrival Begins @ 8:50am

School begins @ 9:05am

Hixson Middle School and Webster Groves High School

Late Start Supervision Program: 8:15am - 9:25am

School Day Arrival Begins @ 9:25am 

School begins @ 9:40am

WGSD staff will manage the Late Start Supervision Program, including instructional aides and substitute teachers. Families who participate in the morning Adventure Club Program will automatically be enrolled in the Late Start Supervision Program for your building. 

Registration in the Late Start Supervision Program will be for the entire school year (all late start days) so that we can appropriately plan for staffing for the 22-23 year.

Follow these steps (desktop) to register your student(s) for late start supervision:

  1. Log on to the Tyler SIS portal: https://sis.webster.k12.mo.us/wg360x3/parent 
  2. Look for an alert above “Announcements” titled “New optional e-Forms are available” and click “view” (note: you can also navigate to the e-Forms from the left drop-down menu under “School Life -> e-Forms).
  3. “Late Start Supervision Enrollment 2022-2023” should appear as an “optional” selection, click the hyperlink.
  4. A new window will generate. Select your student -> click next -> select 22-23 -> click next -> select late start option (yes or no) -> click submit -> confirm your submission by clicking “submit." Note: complete a submission for each student you wish to enroll.

The Freestyle Pool Pass is Back!

The Freestyle Pass removes barriers to the community swimming pool by providing free daily swim passes for individuals and families that require financial assistance.  Thanks to the generosity of this amazing community, 604 pool passes were used last summer!

To those families who may currently be in need of financial support to access the pool, our goal is to provide: 

  • WGSD PreK – 5th grade students: 4 Freestyle Pool Passes per student upon request
  • WGSD 6th – 12th grade students:   2 Freestyle Pool Passes per student upon request
  • If you have more than one child attending the same WGSD school, then you will receive a family pack of Freestyle Pool Passes.

If you currently are in need of financial assistance and are interested in receiving Freestyle Pool Passes (each is good for one daily admission), then please complete this WGSD Freestyle Pool Pass Request Form by May 13, 2022, or contact your child’s counselor, Jenn Starbuck (314-918-4453). The passes will be given to your child May 19 - 20, 2022. During pool season, Freestyle Pool Passes will also be available at Webster Rock Hill Ministries and inside the Rec Center front desk.

Statesmen Softball Camp

Students entering grades 3-8 are invited to the WGHS Statesmen Softball camp. Beginners, intermediate and advanced players are welcome. Bring your glove and hone your skills with the WGHS coaches and current and former WGHS players. See flyer for more information.

Adventure Club Enrollment is Open

Families will need to complete the online application. Adventure Club is designed for families who require before and/or after school care for their children. Maintaining appropriate staffing in Adventure Club is essential to providing a safe environment for all. Children are enrolled based upon the date of the application and when the appropriate fees are received. Individual applications must be complete for each child and include a $50 non-refundable fee for processing (not to exceed $100 per family). Your child may be placed on the waitlist until necessary staff is secured to maintain standard ratios and you will receive monthly updates on the status of the program.

Applications are now posted on the Ambrose Adventure Club website and will be accepted at Ambrose Family Center beginning on the dates below between 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. Applications will not be accepted before your school’s registration date.
